Hey everyone,
So I recently got word of a new AI agent that's caught my eye, and wanted to share the signal.
It's called Chef, built by the team at Convex.dev, an AI-native database.
What makes Chef interesting?
Seamless Integration: Unlike other agents that require you to connect to external databases, Chef is deeply integrated with the Convex database, which allows you to create the database alongside your application.
Simplified Development: The deployment paradigm is easy for both humans and AI agents to understand which means less time debugging.
TypeScript Friendly: Interactions with the database are simplified using familiar TypeScript code.
I'm currently using Chef to prototype an AI-first community platform and, despite a few expected hiccups (it's new!), I'm impressed with what I’m seeing. It's particularly strong for database-driven applications, offering a cleaner and more integrated experience.
If you're looking for a new agent to explore, especially if you're working with database-heavy AI projects, Chef is worth a look. I will include a link to Convex below.
And as a final note, remember to first map out your own stack before trying new tools. This is how you see the impact it has on your cognitive load.
Let me know what you think if you give it a try!
